About Dr. Levenson
Rachel Levenson, PhD, Clinical Health Psychologist
Dr. Levenson is a Clinical Health Psychologist with expertise and specialized interest in maternal mental health. She specializes in individual therapy with women throughout the perinatal period, from pre-pregnancy to early parenthood. Psychotherapy centers on issues such as fertility/infertility, anxiety and depression, pregnancy loss, co-parenting, adjustment to parenthood, and work-life balance. Utilizing specialized knowledge and training in both pregnancy and the IVF process, Dr. Levenson offers support and assistance with decision making every step of the way.
Dr. Levenson provides in-person treatment on the UWS of Manhattan. She is fluent in many models of individual therapy, including psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral therapy, and mindfulness based approaches. Most importantly, treatment is person-centered, meaning we will construct together a plan to address your specific goals. Dr. Levenson brings expert knowledge from the fields of maternal medicine and fertility to her work.
Dr. Levenson is an Adjunct Professor and Clinical Supervisor at Yeshiva University, and a consultant at FamilyKind, where she serves as a Parent Coach.
Dr. Levenson received her undergraduate degree from Columbia University. She has a Masters Degree in Health Psychology and a Doctoral Degree (PhD) in Clinical Psychology from Yeshiva University. Dr. Levenson has an additional certification in Public Health from Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She has additional training in Maternal Health and Fertility Counseling. She is licensed as a Psychologist by the State of NY.
